E14 Dental Centre Statement of purpose
At E14 dental centre we aim to follow a statement of purpose, which includes:
To offer a preventative service
To establish an individually-developed personal dental health regime for each patient to meet their dental care needs and aim for a high level of oral health
This is maintained by calling you for regular recalls at an interval determined by the Dentist and differs for each patient. It is up to you to respond to these reminders and book a check- up appointment, not just emergency appointments. If we do not hear from you for over 2 years, having received repeated reminders, we assume you do not want to attend the Practice and you are deregistered.
The NHS aspires for everyone to have greater control of their health and their wellbeing, it also commissions dental services. Due to this funding and a limited capacity, we maintain the policy that NHS patients who miss appointments or late cancel an appointment (within 24 hours), will no longer be offered NHS treatment at this practice, and the patient can register on a private basis.
All patients who have bad attendance, are informed of our practice policy once they have missed or late cancelled an appointment, for the first time and every time thereafter, and this is recorded on your notes. Furthermore, there are signs about this around the practice and on treatment plans.
We cannot accommodate all patients in the local area and if you have been deregistered as an NHS patient our team will always give you other available options. However, if you are looking for another NHS dentist, you can refer to the NHS website.
Our policy does not affect your ability to seek NHS care at other NHS dental practices.
Thank you,
